Hollingrove Stud - Hollingrove Foals

In the 2010 season we have produced a beautiful crop of foals - the first to arrive was the embryo transfer Royal Oak11/HG Dreamtime and she is everything you could wish for. A tall, elegant filly with a star ,stripe and snip and four lovely even white socks, and seems to have inherited Dreamy's super suspension!

HOLLINGOVE SAFFRON (Saffy) - 2010 Filly (Sir Donnerhall/Hollingrove Fallon)

HG Fallon has produced another outstanding foal. This time, a filly by the exceptional Sir Donnerhall. She an attractive brown with a star, stripe and snip and three white socks which show off her movement beautifully.

Unfortunately we lost HG Dreamtime's 2008 Dancier black colt to a dreaded Redbag delivery - the first and hopefully the last time we see one of those.

Hollingrove Saffron is developing very well and her movement is mesmerising. She has super suspension, great ground covering strides and a calm accepting temperament - she has it all!

HOLLINGROVE SHOGUN (Short Black) 2010 Colt (Shiraz Black/Hollingrove Samoa)

From the time he arrived, Hollingrove Shogun was a "mini me" clone of his sensational sire and he is developing into a streamlined superstar. Hollingrove Samoa carries the well respected influence of Argentinus through her sire Aachen (Imp/Exp) - a stallion who has had a great influence on the Australian performance horse gene pool. Because temperament and trainability is a highly heritable characteristic, we chose to mate her with Mary Hanna's Shiraz Black (Sandro Hit/Donnerhall) - a stallion that needs little introduction as he has had an outstanding career. At his first big competition he was the Queensland Young Horse of the Year in 2007. EI interrupted his training, but he was back on track to become the Champion of Champions at Dressage with the stars in 2008 as a 5 YO. He successfully defended this title in 2009 and was the YO Champion and again, Champion of Champions. He was the VDC's Medium and Advanced Champion in 2009 and late in this season had his first FEI start at PSG level ... as a 7 YO!

2010 has seen Shiraz Black consolidate at "Small Tour" level and the highlight of the year was his amazing appearances at EQUITANA Melbourne where he partnered USA World Cup champion and WEG 2010 Bronze Medallist, Steffen Peters in his various appearances. It was a very demanding task to perform under lights in the Melbourne Showgrounds "big top" in front of 4,500 enthusiasts.

So enthusiastic was Steffen about the potential of this young stallion, that in early 2011 Shiraz Black left Australia to be based with Steffen Peters in the USA. He will continue his training and hopefully return to Australia when his Grand Prix work is secure.

Hollingrove Shogun showed his dad's balance and expression and quickly became a firm favourite at the stud and so was nick named Short Black. He has now been sold to to the Middleton family in NSW for dressage and showing and we look forward to following his career and wish them every success.

HOLLINGROVE DAZZLER 2010 Colt (Dancier/Sante Fe)

We are thrilled to announce that our much anticipated embryo transfer colt foal Hollingrove Dazzler by top IFS sire Dancier from our imported mare Santa Fe (SandroHit/Donnerhall ). He arrived safely in January 2011..

The spectacularly marked liver chestnut colt has created huge interest since his arrival and his remarkable presence and movement along with gorgeous "picture book" good looks have made him the centre of attention at Hollingrove Stud. Choosing a name was not that hard as "Dazzler" became the obvious choice!

In his short time with us he has looked set for a 'dazzling' career as he was awarded the Champion Foal of the 2011 Hanoverian Tour. We could not be more pleased to have the international expert think so highly of our foal.

HOLLINGROVE FURSTIN LULU (FloJo) Jan.2011 Filly Black

Tiki has again bred us an outstanding black filly with perfect white markings. FloJo is a beautifully proportioned filly with a powerful, engaged hindquarters which deliver much sought after energy and correct hock action in all three paces.

Her quality was easy to spot and she has already been sold to the talented Victorian Young Squad rider Rebcca Woff - so FloJo will get every chance to train on ... and succeed.

Rebecca was delighted to have purchased her filly early enough to do the naming as this has a special meaning.
